Raccoon theme mural in Rogers Elementary School in Berkley School District
Berkley, MI
This mural was funded by and dedicated to the graduating 5th grade class of 2010 at Rogers
This Mural also acts as a Directory for the School with clever placement of signs
This mural creates the scene that a child / raccon (rogers mascot) is leaving home for the first time a nd walks enthusiastically through the woods to school
From this angle the seperate walls appear to be one by the way the mural lines up with itself
The mural continues with the landscape and the mascott raccoon holding a stop sign creating a place for the children to line up before lunch and/or gym
This part of the mural depicts symbols from the book "Where the Red Fern Grows" a book read and adored by every fifth grade class at Rogers Elementary School
The Dogs in this image are Ann and Dan, in front of the famous old Sycamore tree, with the bottom right a red fern all very important and recognizable to the story.
The mural ends with Roger the Raccoon meeting up with a friend at School
